ARTISTS PAY TRIBUTE TO ANNIE LENNOX AS SHE IS HONOURED %0AWITH THE MUSIC INDUSTRY TRUSTS AWARD %0A %0AAnnie Lennox, iconic singer, songwriter and philanthropist, was this %0Aevening honoured with the 22nd Music Industry Trusts Award (MITS). The %0AAward, presented by Peter Gabriel, himself a MITS recipient, was in %0Arecognition of Annie Lennox’s outstanding contribution to British music %0Aand her indefatigable charity work. Adele, Joni Mitchell, Sting, Elton %0AJohn, Stephen Fry, Chrissie Hynde, Emeli Sandé and Archbishop %0ADesmond Tutu all paid tribute to Annie Lennox, citing her as an %0Ainspiration and an influence on successive generations of musicians. %0AOver 1200 guests attended this charity event which is in Aid of Nordoff %0ARobbins and The BRIT Performing Arts %26 Technology School. The Music %0AIndustry Trusts Award is sponsored by Spotify, PPL and Ingenious Media. %0A %0AAnnie Lennox, who attended the event with her family, said: %0A“I’m very touched and honoured to receive this Award.
